This letter from Opal Myers to Leonora Wood was discovered by Marilyn Mitchem in Catherine Marshall’s files at Agnes Scott College in Atlanta.

Leonor Whitaker Wood was the mother of Catherine Marshall and the inspiration for the main character, Christy Rudd Huddleston, in the bestselling novel Christy. Leonora married John A. Wood – David Grantland in the book.
